How to: Import “TV3 Playback Server” preset into Adobe Premiere Pro

The TV3 Server will not accept video that uses incorrect encoding parameters.

To setup your copy of Adobe Premiere Pro to properly export clips for the TV3 Server, you will need to configure an Export Preset.

Before we begin, download the “TV3 Server Playback.epr” preset file from the link below:

Now, follow this procedure to import the preset file into your Export Settings presets:

1.Open Premiere Pro and create a new project.
Create a new sequence by going to File > New > Sequence.
When prompted to configure sequence settings, navigate to
AVCHD > 1080i > AVCHD 1080i30 (60i).
This sequence preset is a good starting point as it matches the native video format of the TV3 Studio.

2. Ensure that there is some media on your timeline. In this situation, it can be anything (color bars, black, or a random video file). HOWEVER, if you are prompted to “match the new clip’s settings”, choose Keep existing settings. We want to ensure that we do not override the Sequence Settings that we just selected.

3. Open the “Export Settings” window by going to File > Export > Media

4. Select “H.264” from the format dropdown menu.

5. Next to “Preset:”, you will find an import icon. Click this icon to import a new Export Preset.

6. Navigate to TV3 Server Playback.epr (the file downloaded from the link at the top of the page) on your computer, and
open this file.

7. Confirm the name of the new preset by clicking OK.

8. You should now see “TV3 Server Playback” in the export settings “Preset:” field.

Once the preset is successfully installed, you can move on to the next guide: How to: Export video for TV3 Playback Server from Premiere Pro.

Ensure that you always use this preset to export media for the TV3 Server!

Note: If you are having trouble importing the preset, or want to learn more about the necessary codec specifications, check out the manual configuration page.
